Join us for the jump-off to the jump-up with a special performance 
by the cast of the new musical The Harder They Come and more:

What:  Scotiabank Caribana(TM) 2009 kicks off the summer festival. The

           launch showcases the many events that will entertain and energize

           Toronto over the next three weeks. This event will feature VIPs,

           musical guests, dance troupes and Mas costumes including special

           performance by the cast of The Harder They Come musical, calypso

           singers, soca musicians and Pan orchestra.

Why:   Scotiabank Caribana(TM) celebrates its 42nd year this summer and

           is recognized as a significant tourism event bringing in hundreds

           of thousands of tourists into this city.

Who:   Scheduled to speak (to be confirmed)

           The Honourable Monique Smith; Councilor Joe Mihevc; FMC Chairman

           Joe Halstead.

           Other dignitaries, including a Federal Government representative

           will be announced soon.

 When:  11:00 a.m    Mini-Caribana tent (historic display and information

                                     on festival events) opens.

               11:55 a.m.   Remarks, followed by a cavalcade of entertainment

                                      until 2pm.
