Event: 'OLG Presents Earth Hour Unplugged' Print

Come and celebrate Earth Hour!  Join us for a FREE CONCERT and an evening of fun-filled, family-friendly activities including arts & crafts, face painters, street performers and more!


Performances by Leading Canadian Music Artists
OLG is proud to present Internationally renowned singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk who will perform in support of Earth Hour. Chantal will be joined by R&B artist Jarvis Church and singer-songwriter Justin Nozuka wishing trees, buskers and more.  Citytv personalities, Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese will host this years’ event.

 

Write Down Your Wish for the Earth

This year for Earth Hour, WWF-Canada is encouraging people to share their own personal wish for the Earth. Starting at 5:30 pm, people can drop in and create their wish for the Earth, or bring one from home, and add it to the Earth Hour Wishing Trees on site at the Square. The Wishing Trees will symbolize Canadians’ desire and commitment for action on climate change.

 

Entertainment Scheduled:

5:30 pm Street performers and Earth Hour wish collection begins
7:00 pm onwards Official welcome and open remarks from Gerald Butts and Toronto Mayor David Miller

           Justin Nozuka performs

           Jarvis Church performs


8:10 pm Earth Hour countdown ceremony begins
8:30 pm Earth Hour starts and Chantal Kreviazuk performs
9:30 pm Closing remarks

About the Event

Earth Hour Unplugged brings together thousands of Canadians with one goal in mind: to make every hour Earth Hour. WWF-Canada is taking every step to ensure the event is as environmentally responsible as possible, including:


•powered by 100% green electricity provided by Bullfrog Power
•all of the lights used will be energy efficient LEDs
•the Wishing Trees come from a local tree farm – and all trees will be re-planted or re-used for other events
•the wishes will be printed on Forest Stewardship Council certified paper
