Moses Revolution will be Headlining Chevy Music Indie Fridays for Caribana Weekend

On August 2, Chevy Music Indie Fridays is collaborating with Toronto’s favourite summer festival, Toronto Caribbean Carnival Caribana. The festival celebrates Caribbean culture and traditions and is hailed as one of the largest street festivals in North America, filling the city with bursts of color, food, events and one of a kind live music.

In honour of the Caribana festival, Moses Revolution will be headlining Chevy Music Indie Fridays. Moses Revolution is a band lead by Anthony Moses Lewis, who after traveling the world with a band called Sound Revolution, migrated to Canada in 2001 and formed Moses Revolution. Moses Revolution has performed at every Caribana Festival for the past 18 years and was the first band to win the Soca Monarch Crown. They have performed in festivals all over Canada, toured with the Calypso kind of the world, Mighty Sparrow and worked with Rock and Roll hall of fame Percy Sledge. Moses Revolution has two released albums and recently collaborated with artists to produce a song celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.

The much-anticipated lineup will also include Reggaddiction, and Carol Brown. Reggaddiction is one of the top new bands within the Canadian reggae scene, with their single releases from the band’s highly anticipated upcoming Neil Young reggae tribute album, Ganja Harvest, receiving stellar reviews and national airplay on CBC Radio. Carol Brown is a renowned Jamaican Canadian Reggae singer, who has been performing reggae for audiences around the world over decades. Carol’s singles have reached the British Reggae charts, and her accolades include awards as Top Female Performer and Top Female Reggae Singer at Canada Reggae Awards.  Carol Brown was most recently dubbed as one of 2019 Titans of Toronto Reggae at the sold-out Opera House.

The lineup will also be featuring the Caribbean Acoustic Ensemble, featuring longtime reggae musicians like Hayes ‘Kali’ Thurton, Danny Rebel, Ross Whiteman and Wayne Stoute. This exciting ensemble was formed specifically for Chevy Music Indie Fridays at Yonge-Dundas Square!

The Caribana edition of Chevy Music Indie Fridays will feature vibrant music and energetic performances, making it a once a year spectacular you do not want to miss.
